WS-02: Workshop on Charging Solutions for Electro-mobility of the Future

WS-02: Workshop on Charging Solutions for Electro-mobility of the Future

Electric vehicles (EV) are seen as key enablers for low carbon society, and they are thus, supported by public authorities in many countries. However, the challenges related to EV charging still hamper the market domination of EVs. Innovative solutions are needed that 1) enable longer drive distances with shorter recharging times, 2) increase availability of the charging infrastructure, 3) minimize the impact of EV charging on power grid, and 4) promote profitable business models to market players in transport and energy sectors.

In this workshop, the academic and industrial community will address emerging challenges in EV charging in smart grid context and possible solutions considering components, systems, standards, services, communications and grid interface technologies.
